How do we get here
We will arrange for free transport from certain points in and around Chennai city, and back.
The buses shall leave for the city after the event ends in the evening. They will trace the same route as during the arrival. If needed, you can contact the escorts, who will be in the buses:

We will arrange to drop you back from CMI at 7:30pm. Feel free to contact us for any sort of enquiry regarding route.
Shipwreck
The end is near,but you need not fear
argue your spot,else we will "miss you a lot".
You will be given the character of a celebrity in a ship that is about to drown. There is only one life jacket and so only one celebrity can be saved. Now each participant will have to give reasons why he or she ought to be saved- from the point of view of the corresponding celebrity he or she is.
This is an individual event.

Math Olympiad
This is an event that shall test your skill, or the lack of it, in Mathematics. The questions will be at an undergraduate level and shall be more concept-oriented than knowledge-oriented.
Physics Olympiad
The Physics olympiad shall include challenging but exciting problems relevant to current research and based on the usual undergraduate Physics curriculum. The questions will require use of some mathematical sophistication as well as intuitive logic and reasoning.Programmable calculators are allowed.
Both are individual events.

How Stuff Work
Some practical situation will be given to you and you will have to explain the Physics behind it.
Your team of two will have to qualify in preliminary rounds and compete in the final round to get the jackpot.

Teams of two will first qualify a preliminary round. The shortlisted teams will compete in the final round. There will be questions from various fields, in a few exciting rounds.

Imagination to connect the unusual...
Spontaneity to show it on stage.
Every team of three actors will pick six items from a bag, and will have to incorporate as many of them in the time given to them, in a short skit. The team will then have to enact the skit on stage, and not only the plot, but the acting skills will also matter...Three minutes shall be given to the teams for preparation, and ten minutes to act it out.

Logic, argument, rhetoric,
And speed to turn around at will.
Imagine you are a contestant in a debate. You are given a topic... and have to argue for it. But here is the twist: On the judges' indication, you have to argue against your own point at a moment's notice. Sharpen your reflexes and your debating skills for this event.

Crosswords and Sudoku
These are offstage events. If you get tired of other competitions, you could just relax with a Crossword or Sudoku.
Participants can collect the crossword and/or Sudoku from the counter any time they feel like. The participant who gives the fastest solution will be declared winner.

Each team can have a maximum of two participants (individual participants allowed). The two participants need not be from the same institute.
There shall be a pen-and-paper prelims round. After the prelims, about 10 teams will be selected for the 2 hour programming round where each team will be given access to a computer terminal. The programming tasks will be algorithmic in nature and will not typically require more than 150 lines of code per program.
